Shopping. Giving. Uplifting.
Elizabeth Holland of Clearwater, Florida, comes by her giving nature and sense of style naturally. Growing up, her father was the best-dressed man she knew, often referred to as a Clark Gabel lookalike. He ingrained in Elizabeth the importance of serving others truly.
As a young adult working in the fast-paced corporate world of NYC financial services, Elizabeth read "Dress for Success" by John T. Malloy. The premise of dressing for the job you want, NOT the job you have, reinforced the importance of representing yourself fashionably - just as her father had done.
“My mother always wants to give her beautiful clothing away, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh, you’re giving that away? It’s super expensive, hasn’t even been worn and still has the tags!’”
-Alisha Holland DeBernardi
When asked about her mother's style, Elizabeth's oldest daughter, Alisha Holland DeBernardi, states, "She's super classy, but her style is not simple - it's loud and bright and sparkly."
Elizabeth has always been fashion-forward with a unique eye for the best, high-value deals and apparel of superior quality. Now, she uses those skills to serve others just as her father taught her. She knows first-hand the sense of self-empowerment that comes from dressing for success and it fuels her desire to help empower others to achieve their dreams and goals by presenting themselves in the best manner possible.
"My mother has always been a giver and thinks nothing of it," Alisha says. "The Elizabeth Holland Best Dressed for Success Tampa Bay Foundation helps to elevate women in our community with professional, stylish clothing that makes them feel empowered."
A Mindset Shift “It’s important to love what you do and look gorgeous while doing it! Why not? That’s the key to success!” – Elizabeth Holland
Alisha says The Foundation is also about helping women understand that they can change their circumstances in life.
We all know that a great outfit and looking our best can do wonders for self-esteem.
“What better way is there than looking in the mirror and feeling like you’re gonna nail it when you get in there for that interview?” Alisha says.
